Nipple Ring

I got my nipple pierced back in June.  The guy who did it told me that if I got the bar it would heal relatively quickly, around 1 month, but if I got a hoop it would take around 2 months.

I decided to go for the hoop as that is what I wanted in the first place.  Right enough, for the first couple of months it was still a bit tender and weeping - but getting better and better as time went by.  But now we're 4 months on and I find it flares up around once per week, not necessarily weeping, but just a bit red and raw.  Can anyone advise if this is part of the healing process or should I get this checked out further?

you should keep it taped up with a plaster, as the constant movement and nudging from your clothes may be stopping it from healing properly

Mimi - I *have* actually been feeling run down lately - constantly tired etc. etc. so I think you might be on to something there.

Jacko - I will get to the chemist at lunch today and get the spray and also an antiseptic cream.

Joko - Thanks, I will get myself a box of plasters and keep it strapped up for the time being - It's just as well I'm single!! LOL

Just to add to all the good advice Dak, a friend of mine recommended cutting a sanitary towel in half and putting it inside your bra to prevent it rubbing and irritating - possibly a bit late for that advice but it's still a good tip.
