Hi,
My husband, who is very tall, has just had a hip operation and has been provided with a toilet seat on a frame to use over our toilet, unfortunately the aperture is too small.
Has anyone had this problem if so what did they do?
I have been to all mobility shops in our area and it would appear that there is only one size.
Any suggestions , advice appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.

who provided him with the original seat? They may have access to bits of equipment that the shops don’t keep.

The local mobility provider, he had only one size of seat, and could not offer any further help.
oh....what do you mean by mobility provider? Round here you would be seen in the hospital or at home or both by a rehabilitation team. Does he have any outpatient appointments or checkups scheduled?
This equipment is provided by the Occupational Therapy team at most hospitals. If you have no joy in going back through this team, then in our area there is a 'One Call' service where you can self refer to Community Occupational Therapy services, who should be able to help you.
