Has anyone had one of these? I've got to book one tomorrow and have to say, I'm a tad anxious about having a tube down my throat for 24 hours :(

Sorry, it's not the manometry test, it's the reflux one for checking acid levels.
No I haven't had one.
It's no big deal.
A small tube is passed through your nose and down the back of your throat to a level about 2 inches above the stomach valve. The nose bit is stuck to your face with plaster and that's that.
Simple.
oh good luck rocky..I would hate that..expect they may offer a sedative thingy ??
Sedation?......that's for wimps.
The tube is thin......no sedation needed.
A friend has recently had this done. She's a wimp but apparently had no problems. I don't think she was sedated.
me a wimp Sqad !!! lol x

Thanks all. I'm having a gastroscopy at the same time, so, will definitely be sedated.

I'm glad it doesn't sound too bad, the actual thought of it makes me feel ill.
take the sedation !!!!
