2 Answers
Hi again sqad update from two weeks ago... my daughter went back to the hospital and had another xray...and was told by the doctor the xray was fine and the air had gone......but it could go again and she may need to have the operation again... I found this doctor we saw...she was in the AD department was a bit unsure to what she was doing.. as she said whenmy daughter has pain and breathlessnes again go straight in.. The only trouble was this isnt what happened this time at all....she was in pain went to GP who said to go and have an xray and they found her lung was deflating again. No breathlessness at all.! So what would have happened if she just got on with the pain and didnt go that day.? Anyway she is now still in pain some days worse than others and still on the oramorph.! Brenda xx

\\\So what would have happened if she just got on with the pain and didnt go that day.? \\
Well she did go lilac. If she hadn't...if....if....if ....who knows?
The likelihood would have been that her heart would have struggled to put blood through her lungs, she would have got shortness of breath, more pain and over a period of time would have developed right sided heart failure. But it didn't and she didn't.
Thanks for the update.

That is what i posted 2 weeks ago and that is happily what has happened.
I have read your post again and decided i had not given it my full attention...I apologise.
Pneumothorax without shortness of breath is unusual although it occurred with your daughter and i would suggest that if she gets shortness of breath, then go back to the hospital bypassing your GP.
Also if the pain gets worse or persists, then do the same, go back to A&E.
