Recently her indoors brought out a cannister of deodorant from my supply of birthdays/ christmas presents that has been sitting in a bag over several years .

This morning I just happen to notice on the base of the canister that it's got on it use by date of 2011.

Why is there the need for a use by date on this product and what are the implications ( if any ) of using it so far after the use by date ?

Thanks for the link mamy

//The aluminum salts in antiperspirant expire, but solid deodorant ingredients last an indefinite amount of time, according to Outside Online.//

So , i take it that , because the aluminum salts expire and therefore would not be doing the job of an antiperspirant , that would be the only reason , for having the expiry date .

I see no reason to stop using it if it still smells nice.
Sorry to use your site Baz but I would like to ask a question that has puzzled me for years. I tend to make a lot of intestinal gas which results in a lot of wind breaking ( to be delicate). Is it possible therefore to use deodorants in the knicker/trouser area ?
''use deodorants in the knicker/trouser area ?''

A Roll On, yes.

As it says: remove cap and push up bottom.
Snags. OMG. *Titterfarkle*.

When I was a teenager I once used aftershave in the trouser area. Just the once!

Not half, Sharon.
I once used hairspray instead of 'intimate spray' ;-(
//As it says: remove cap and push up bottom. // I so love it ( the words not the action.)
