Painful Cramp On Top Of Foot
8 Answers
Twice this evening I have had extremely painful cramp at the front of my ankle just where my leg joins my foot. I sat and massaged it hard but it took ages to subside. Now 2 hours later it has started again. Anyone know why it's happening and a quicker remedy to make it go away.

//Doesn't sound like typical cramp pain//
I certainly do think it was cramp Sqad - the kind that makes you jump and shout "Yarooo - ouch!" I had those pains on the top of my foot three times that evening/during the night but thankfully not since Thursday night. Could it be a coincidence that since mid week I have just started to take Vitamin D tablets as according to bloods my levels are not quite up to where they should be (level 21 in 2015 and 51 last year) I just checked the label on Vit D tablets and they also contain Magnesium so maybe Naomi's theory is correct as I haven't had cramp since Thurs night (plus I also had a couple of bananas for lunch Friday) so maybe I have found the cure unwittingly Haha! Thanks all for your help!
