Laser Eye Surgery.

OH is having this done tomorrow. he has not been given any information on what happens during the op and more importantly what happens afterwards. E.g will he be able to drive, if not for how long after, what if any side effects there are.
Has anyone had this done that cn give some info please.

Which type of laser surgery is it, Caran?

Is it to remove a cataract or to cure short sight?

He had a cataract done a week or so ago, there is gel leaking from the back of the eye. The laser treatment is to clear this up hopefully.

This leaflet, from the Oxford Eye Hospital, suggests that his vision might be blurred for a few hours after laser surgery but that there shouldn't be much else to worry about:

Best Wishes to your OH Caran,it's amazing just how easy & quick this op is nowadays.I can remember my Mum having something like this in 1957,it was a major op and she couldn't move (from the laying flat on back position) for about a week!

That was sixty years ago, not like that now.

I have laser treatment for my sight issues occasionally and it does impair your vision for a few hours.

If it's anything like the tear I had repaired, the affects fade fairly quickly once they stop.
