What Could This Be

For two weeks now my right upper arm has been really sore particularly at night when I'm sleeping. I can't sleep with it bent tucked up under me it has to be straight. If I do end up bending it, it wakes me and the only way to get relief is to put my arm up in the air. My elbow is also sore and the lower section of my arm is a bit tingly like pins and needles - my fingers are sore across the knuckles (this hand was shut in a door 4/5 years ago)
I have been told I have Carpal Tunnel but I don't know if it's that.
I also injured this shoulder 13 years ago during sports day.
Any ideas - it's happened before but not like this and it's driving me batty. My arm is achey during the day and at times feels heavy.

It could well be a result of the injury, but the good news is that it is not a big deal, the bad news is, that it may take at least six months to settle. Anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g Ibuprofen)would be the first line of attack and then proceed from there.
I think that Frozen Shoulder (Capsulitis) is more common in Diabetics, but I may be wrong....check it.
