Are there truly people in this world who can communicate with the dead or is it a cruel con trick? I have an open mind personally, but am interested to hear other people's views.

Chrissie, I can't remember the first time I saw the ghost in my parents' house - she was just there. I know who she is and she never frightened me.
I also know who the ghost is in my present home - we've rubbed along okay for over 20 years and she shows no sign of leaving.

Ghosts don't worry me - it's the living that have the ability to do harm.

Rationally I know that ghosts don't exist, just as rationally I know the earth is round but can't really understand how the Australians are not clinging on by their toes.

I don't believe that the ghosts I see are the souls of the departed but I do know that I see them. It is not rational to me and I can't explain it - it's just how it is.

Thanks hc4361 for your response. It is for this reason I keep an open mind. You do not claim to have psychic powers nor do you appear to be gaining financially, just that, perhaps, you are sensitive to be able to see into another "realm" that the majority cannot. Who knows???

I believe there are people who are more 'in tune' (best way I can describe it) and have some sort of gift.

I wouldn't label them Physics or Mediums and you won't find them on stage or in a tent at the end of a pier show.

hc4361, I would suggest a better explanation would be that you know that 'ghosts', for want of a better word, do exist - you just don't know what they are.

Not on a regular basis like you, but I have seen and heard things I can't explain. I know they're not Australians though. ;o)

I've never experienced poltergeists but can sort of understand how a troubled person's mental state and emotional energy could cause that sort of activity.

Was you frightened, naomi?

Terrified at first, but after a number of years we sort of got used to it and looked upon it with curiosity more than anything else, even joking about it occasionally. I can't say I was sorry to move from that house though - and on the day we moved although I wanted to go upstairs to check everything was out, but I couldn't bring myself to do it - so I suppose you could say I was still afraid.
