Waiting For Hearing Aids

My friend's NHS hearing aids need replacing so was measured for moulds on 6 March. How long should the waiting be for the hearing test to get the actual aids?. Seems a long time ago.

Nobody should have to wait so long. Has anyone tried chasing them up?

As I understand you......your friend has had her hearing tested, has had a mould made and is now waiting for the hearing aid.
Is that correct? Why would she need another hearing test?
Three months should be the absolute maximum wait after the mould is made.

The old ones aren't working properly and it's years since a hearing review, so said when the moulds were ready come back for a test and will be given new ones then. Thought you had that first!

My daughter gets it pretty much straight away, although she is young and profoundly deaf meaning she struggles to work without them.

Perhaps try chasing audiology.

you should only wait about 2-3 weeks for your mould once they have been measured. no harm in giving audiology a ring.

NHS audiology services vary greatly around the country....some are remarkably quick (mine, thankfully), but others take so long that you think that they've forgotten about you. Definitely worth giving them a nudge....
