Winter Fuel Payment !

I had a letter from the DWP yesterday, inviting me to apply for the WFP, for the 2017-2018 winter !

I am not 65 until June next year, but I must call this 0345 number, to make a claim. Apparently I will get between £100 and £300......knowing my luck, it will be £100 !

Wasn't expecting this !

I thought it was a straight £200 for a single person claim ? more for 80 + and a couple ?

You get it when you reach the age that a female born on the same day as you would qualify.

Also once you are getting the winter fuel payment if your energy supplier is in the scheme ( most are) you also get £140 'Warmer Homes Discount' from your energy supplier. If you get your gas and electricity from the same supplier you get another £15 dual fuel discount!

I get all three, £200 winter fuel,£140 warmer homes & £15 dual fuel.
That pays off nearly 3 months fuel bill!

Minty is right ! My birthday of 04-06-1953 qualifies me apparently. There isn't any "net access to this , so I will need to call the 0345 number tomorrow morning....more news than !

FIL gets this too Eddie, the £200 plus the £140 plus the £15, makes a load of difference to him.

I know it won't happen, but it'd be nice if energy suppliers reduced their prices tho

The Warmer Homes Discount is only payable if you already receive pension credit.

I checked this out and my understanding is that you can’t apply until after the residence dates in september, also its a set per person payment for individuals?
