I have a small mole (? more like a lump - skin coloured) on my chin. It has been there for as long as I remember but I've recently noticed it more, I'm not sure if it has got bigger though. Would I be able to have this removed on the NHS for cosmetic reasons or does it have to be cancerous or something?
Thanks, Laura

It sounds as if it is one of those lumps that has got a fatty kind of stuff in it. my friend had quite a big one on her face , we persuaded her to give it a squeeze. My god you should have seen the muck that came out.I know it might sound disgusting but you might like to give it a go.

Go to the doctor, don't give it a squeeze.

Check it out.

They will be glad to help

Thanks Ingram but i'm certain it's not a spot and I won't be sqeezing it! I guess the doctor is the best bet,,,
yes almost sure you could have it removed for cosmetic reasons.  I had a mole on one of my breasts near the nipple which I hated, eventually plucked up the courage and dealt with the embarressment of going to doctors and said how much I hated it and made me feel self concious etc..  I was reffered to a specialist and a plastic surgeon and eventually had it removed courtesy of nhs.  It did take a long time mind waiting for appointments and going to different hospitals about 10 month after my first visit to docs but definatly worth doing rather than forking out for private after all thats what we pay our taxes for.  good luck
