I suffer terrible dandruff tried head and shoulders etc.. still doesn't shift it.  Any suggestions?

Get some T-gel shampoo, theres different types for different hair stuff, its quite expensive but works really well

got to agree with sophie, T-Gel is the best anti dandruff shampoo around, I have used it exclusivly for years and never get a flake, plus it leaves my hair in great shape too. I am referring to the 'medicated' varity, with coal tar in it, cant say I have ever used the other types.

i think theyre all medicated its just some are for like, sensitive scalp, some for itchy, some for dry etc

Ive been using Oilarium (sp) as i was consideriing buying T-Gel as i get ezema on my scalp and head and shoulders was easing the proplem but just wasnt strong enough, any how i got it because it was cheep in Home Bargain( instead of �5 ot was �2) so i tought i would try it, its a tiny bottle but it seams to last just aslong as normal types of shampoo in lager bottles do, for the price i would say it works fairly well.

T-Gel is great but Head and Shoulders is a terrible shampoo, i think it's been proven that it contains irritants that make itching and flaking worse. Vosene is also pretty good, a bit cheaper than T-Gel but it's medicated too.

Yeah, Head and Shoulders is nasty stuff. Good for stripping hair colour if you've gone a bit mad with the hair dye though!

You may have a yeast infection or an overgrowth of yeast affecting your scalp - in which case no amount of anti dandruff shampoo will eradicate it. Pop down to Holland and Barratt and buy 'Yeast Raiders' to tackle the problem head on so to speak....

I had the same problem and it turned out to be a yeasty thing. I bought some Nizoral on the recommendation of my doctor and it was brilliant. They do an over-the-counter one and one that is on display in the shop. I recommend the over-the-counter one. Boots sell it.

what's the general symptoms of a yeaty head then?  Because I get an itchy scalp alot and not sure what's causing it.
