I want to ask a question or two to people who have had this op - or know anyone whose had one, or has medical knowledge.

I want to know if anyone has had any problems with puffy eyes many months after having this op? a year even.

waking up in the morning with very puffy eyes and they go down a bit during the day - but not completely

I may be wrong and it may not be connected, but i never used to have puffy eyes or dark circles under eyes etc, and it ''seems'' that ever since i had this op its happened - or at least thats when i've 'noticed'
As i say, i may be wrong, it may have started before or after that and i just never really noticed or cared - i honestly cant remember as it was over a year ago.

thanks

I had a septoplasty many years ago, though no rhino. My whole face was perfectly fine afterwards.
I have done about 500 of these procedures and "puffy" eyes after the immediate post operative period has never been a problem
However, after seeing them for their final check at 6 weeks, I very rarely see them again, so my experience of "puffy eyes " after the procedure may not give a true picture/
I cannot see any connection , long term whatsoever.

my op has only been what i would think was a partial success though.
There are weird bumps and dents and an area that if i touch it, i feel it on a different part of my nose.
Also there were 2 small discs of i think cartilage placed inside in order to open my nostrils more to aid breathing - both these fell out ...

so my 'connection' was about wondering if something inside my nose was causing a small amound of fluid to build up round it and go to my eyes as im lying down, and cannot 'drain' away properly due to some scar tissue or where the stitches were, or something along those lines.
Your operation was I presume to relieve nasal blockage with a cosmetic benefit being a bonus. Well, the bonus doesn't seem to have paid off, let's hope the blockage has been relieved.
The discs are temporary and are supposed to fall out.
I can see no reason for an obstruction and my opinion remains the same that there is no connection between your eye problems and your operation.

ahh i see, id been worried that was the reason for the dents.

my nose looks better than it did, its straight and thankfully the dents are only visible in certain light angles, and the bumps are mainly by touch rather than visible.
unfortunately i still have problems breathing through but certainly no worse than before

thanks
