I've recently changed jobs after many years at the same place. I'm now anxious all the time and worrying I've made a mistake, even though I like the work and the people. How long does it take to settle into new role that's completely different to the last one? Any suggestions for coping would be appreciated. thanks.

it is bound to take a wee while..don't fret.. join in any social activities etc get to know all your work colleagues, once they feel more like friends it will get better..
You have made the move, it is done. You might find that you are counting up only negative comparisons with your previous post, when instead you should look only at the positive things in your new one the first being that you have a job at all ! Try making a list of all the good things which relate to your new job, and a list of all the bad things about your old one which you have left behind and moved on.
Think only positively.
In the past I've found that herbal remedies have helped me cope with anxiety problems. St John's Wort might be worth a try:

I suspect it varies from person to person.

One thing you can do is stop considering it a mistake. It's an adventure, an opportunity, a new experience during your lifetime. You say you like it, get stuck in, involved, get too busy to brood and reap the reward of adding another string to your bow. (And to your CV for that matter.) It's all a matter of state of mind. The more you immerse yourself instead of analysing and asking yourself such questions, the sooner it'll be familiar, comfortable territory.
