Tiny Itchy Bumps
4 Answers
About a month ago my daughter caught head lice. We treated her and me at the same time, although I didn’t find any on me even though my head was really itchy. Believe me I was thorough. Roll on 4 weeks and I’m still itchy and I’ve narrowed it down to a small number of very itchy tiny bumps on my head and and there are also a couple on my left hand and right shoulder. Nowhere else. They are tiny, only the size of a pin head, but they are driving me nuts! 4 weeks I’ve been scratching my head now! I’ve no other symptoms and not using my new products. Any ideas?

I would be inclined to suggest that a single flea or similar parasitic insect is/was involved. Your description suggests only you are affected, not your daughter. Most bites subside after about 7 days or so and therefore this would have nothing to do with the lice but is more recent. If no new sites come to light then the insect is gone. People's reaction varies in strength and some people scarcely notice any itching but others are driven potty by it and it can last longer than with others. It would be extreme if an insect has laid eggs in your skin, but it can happen, in which case the itch will persist until the larvae exit for their next stage of existence.
