We Had A Challenge....

...Dave and I.......we each had to arrange a trip to somewhere the other had never been...plan it and hope they enjoyed it....
I took Dave to Liverpool and he took me to Scotland....I'd been to Scotland long ago...once touring our caravan up the west and over to some islands.....this was the holiday about which MissG had to do a school project ...
I would be lying to say this holiday was accident and incident free.....though we found a really good butcher who sold us steak for MrG's black eye.....
Never cross your navigator!!!!
I received a note from MissG's teacher......."I hope you don't mind, MrsG.....your daughter's project was so funny I took it home for my husband to read....we sat in bed reading and laughing......poor MrG"....... :-(
Still.....if it passed the time in bed for them I'm happy.....
My other visits were business.......meeting folk in the oil industry....lord what a snooty and dry lot they were....well that's perhaps unfair.....probably just that I didn't fit too well.....
Well isn't a pun......
Perthshire was bliss......the best apartment.....a truly lovely town with the most friendly folk....a great pub......and scenery to die for.....
I lived in Canada and it's beautiful.......but this area is just as spectacular.......the hills...the rivers...the stunning night skies....
Salmon leaping......red squirrels.....deer with magnificent antlers......and to top it all.....a crow murmuration over the apartment every night....
So.....never having been too fussed....I am sold on Scotland and planning a return......
And whoever told me to take woolies and wellies will get a ticking off...the weather was just glorious.....xxx

Tony....MrG gave me the map and said...guide us to Tarbert.....I found it and gave directions.....we were on the mainland where there is...I found out later....a Tarbert......
I saw a Tarbert but didn't notice it was on an island....so I started to navigate......which would have been fine had we bloody well been on the island.....
We got the caravan stuck up a narrow lane on a hill....no turning round......
Rather than confess I tried to leap out of the car...god knows why.... where would I go.....but my foot caught him in the face ....accidentally......
I think there are many Tarberts in Scotland..... :-(
