Cold Sores

OH has had a belter of a cold sore on his lip for the last week. It was that bad last weekend that his sister asked me if I’d smacked him one - it was massive and he looked like he’d had lip filler.

He’s been using Zovirax since the weekend and it’s now scabbed over.

Is he still infectious as I’m fed up pecking him on the cheek and avoiding him like the plague? It just seems a little long for a cold sore - I did suggest he sees his GP but he said no.

I’m cautious because I suffer from the same virus in places further south and don’t want to take my chances

Yes......he is still contagious....until the scab has gone.
