These Companies have long lost any sense of self-justice, as the products that they produce, kills their own customers, all over the world, leaving them to attract new customers every year, most of them now in backward countries, and mostly children. They have no sense of shame whatsoever.

Much as I would like to see the companies feet held to the fire, smoking is already declining in Britain, so allowing the tobacco industry years of tying the Government up in legal knots, in never-ending Court cases, as happened in the States. It might be better to divert any money to more education.
But I continue to be worried about smoking rates amongst children and young adults, especially the less well educated.
On the housing estate where I live, I am in a distinct minority when it comes to smoking. As soon as most kids get to their early to mid teens, they seem inevitably to start smoking.

When I started smoking, it was entirely down to peer pressure. If you didn't smoke, you were viewed as a bit of a wimp and not one of the cook kids. I think that's less the case these days, but that's where the major effort needs to be addressed. So anything which contributes to that gets my approval.
