Daughter and I went to the Good Food Show at the NEC today.
Long traffic jam on the way but got there about 11.30.
It seemed bigger than ever. We do the alcohol bit first thing so she has worked it off for driving home. Bought lots of things, many cheeses, sausages, mixed samosa, bhagis and pakoras, chutneys. Spices, hot lime pickle. Five bottles of assorted liqueurs, gin and tonic fudge, whisky fudge. Nuts, sausage rolls, bacon. Got two different free goody bags containing all sorts of things. Had a really good day but feeling wrecked. We didn't finish it all as it was so big and it was closing time. We have been going for at least 20 years but I don't know how much longer I can do it for as I have to keep stopping for a rest due to aches and pains and breathlessness. I do enjoy it as it is our day out and we have chance to natter.
All round to yours for a feast then Caran? Did they not have any Motability scooters you can hire? Whenever I go to places like that, I always hire one or else I probably wouldn't get to see much.
I have my own mobility scooter but I wouldn't take it there. You cannot get to the stalls, I have grumbled myself about scooters and wheelchairs clogging up spaces so I wouldn't be a hipocrite and use mine. I will struggle on til I can't do it anymore.
Barsel, not at places like the NEC. I use a shopping trolley that I can lean on. I heard a few comments like so and so oldies with trolleys etc. Intolerance is quite rife so I wouldn't do it.
I've never been to the NEC, but if you are able to push a trolley, that's better than nothing, and when you get really tired, you can jump in the trolley and ask your daughter to push you :-) x
That sounds like such a good day out Caran:-),used to do a similar thing on a much lower scale, with my sister, she loves a freebie! My neighbour used to use a baby buggy to help her get around. She would trundle over to the supermarket to get her bits and pieces and use it to carry them home!
