Just watching this on ITV. The greatest TV moment of the 60's apparently was a Monty Python sketch. Seriously! Not England winning the World Cup, not man landing on the moon! What would be your greatest TV moment? For me it would have to be the moon landing. As a teenager I was transfixed.

Perhaps they were seeking the greatest moment 'made for' TV, rather than 'on' TV?

I suppose that I'd also go along with the 1969 lunar landing as being the greatest TV moment of the 60s but I suspect that, as a 10-year-old, I was just as excited by the first ever episode of Doctor Who in 1963 ;-)

LOL, I remember hiding behind the settee when I first saw the Daleks, Chris.

My tv magazine says that the programme has "contributions from stars including Holly Willoughby". Is she a star?
Not sure but I doubt that Holly Willoughby was around in the sixties.

Perhaps you'd had an earlier unfortunate experience with a sink plunger, Tony ?

;-)
Er.... No, I won't ask. :-)
My vote would go to the footage of Bob Braithwaite winning his Olympic Gold.

(Stand by Google.....)
Yes and a dish cloth, Chris. My mom sure knew how to wield those things ;-)
For Shoota:

I actually had a bid for his medal winning gun which was auctioned a couple of years ago.
Went for more than I could manage though.
Watching Andy Murray win the US Open.
Didn't watch this...but amused by the programme title....
"The Greatest TV Moments OF ALL TIME"....really?
That wasn't in the sixties though, jo.
No sorry, I forgot that bit. I wasn't around in the 60s. :)
At best, this vote would have been the result of a survey of a limited few. I suppose the result depends on the purpose for which people watch the box, i.e. to be educated/entertained/follow a passion etc.
Chacun a son gout and all that jazz.
For me it was when Valerie Singleton fell off that camel when Blue Peter went to Morocco.
