One of my big downfalls is I skip breakfast. I do try very hard to force down some toast or some cereal or some yoghurt but the truth is, I dont really like this stuff.
I do quite enjoy a continental type breakfast though with cheese and sliced meat.
Would the weight loss benefits of eating a continental style brekkie be better than none at all? I've got about 5 months to shift a stone and a half.
This is why it’s good to talk and share ideas online as you learn something new, sometimes you learn what you used to think was right had now be debunked or sometimes a complete curveball as I read Keto as one thing and now have read pastas link and realised what I thought was right had now been amended and tweaked.
:)
ANd this is one of the joys of AB, as you say Jah - a pooling of ideas and opinions that really does help.
I always really value the input I get here. Not only do I get great advice, but sometimes if I am just not sure about stuff it's a GREAT sounding board.
When I was in the RAF very few people went to breakfast. You could get the full works: cereal, full English and as much toast as you could eat. The problem was that they stopped serving at 7 am. As work didn't start till 8 am that meant you had to get up by 6.30 at the latest if you wanted breakfast. Most of us preferred to remain in our pits for an extra hour.
Grazing is all very well, but you miss out on the metally beneficial social aspects of a shared meal, and lose the time of de-stress, eating without thought/concentration whilst pushing yourself to continue working. Plus it's easier to overgraze as it's random, not planned. Graze with caution, when you have a good low intake routine you stay with without needing to think about it.
I eat v badly - I don't eat breakfast or lunch and then generally eat badly at about 6 (rarely eat all of my main meal, have an ice cream and maybe some sweets). I do have times when I am really hungry and eat a huge tea. At the moment I look like I could do with a good feed but I'm just not a food person (I don't usually eat with everyone else as I don't want the kids to pick up on my v bad eating habits).
If we all followed the diets that are advertised in the papers we'd all be slim as beans, but they don't work long term if you like your wine and chocolate, or food in general. They've been going on forever. The F Plan, the Atkins and every other thing.
A paper today advertised losing 12 pounds in a month
and you don't have to give up wine or chocolate. Sounds great. I've been doing that for years. Why am I not skinny? :)
