I wouldn't say I was shy, I train new people in work in groups, have to attend safeguarding meetings, drag people over the coals for not doing their jobs properly, but when I'm in a meeting that involves the managers and directors, I find it quite hard to say what is needed. Don't know if that is classed as shyness or more that I feel a bit intimidated.
Never been shy, and as I fast approach my 70th I am getting even worse. I no longer take any bullschytte from anyone. If challenged I just say it's my age!
I'm often accused of being rude and aggressive. So what, I am. At my time of life I look after number one. I can be very polite and charming when the occasion demands it but woe betide anyone who presumes to talk down to me. What I have discovered recently is that a lot of younger people think older folk are automatically senile and therefore patronise them. Well I'm not senile (yet), and you patronise me at your peril.
Depends on the situation, Tilly. In my household I wouldn't put up with any aggression. If you're in a pub and a drunken fool acts like a clown....completely different.
