Just been to my local corner shop to purchase a few items. Realised after I left that he hadn't charged me for a loaf of bread. Would you go straight back with the money, leave it until next time you visit the shop again or keep quiet about it?
Think the last one is out of the question, they are just an indian family trying to make ends meet and they work long hard hours. Funny enough, if it was somewhere like Tesco or Morrisons I wouldn't have a conscience about it.

I'd leave it till next time; they won't have missed the money and you've no intention of diddling them.
Pay next time you go.
I would leave it until next time
I agree with the above replies.
go back and offer the money.

Thanks for replies, probably will do now. Just seems funny how I wouldn't have batted an eyelid if it was one of the big supermarkets (in fact ive got a conviction for shoplifting from Tescos many years ago, but that's another story) But owing £1.40 to a local family run business plays on my mind. Weird.
I wouldn't mention it again.
The price of a loaf of bread is hardly likely to be a life changer for your Indian shopkeepers.
Your conscience is already niggling away at you. I'd go back and sort it now.
£1.40 for a loaf of bread?
Now or next time, Nailit......it'll make them happy.....not the money but someone bothering....that's nice.....have a hug.......x
Question Author
Yep, £1.40 JD...
Last time I bought a loaf it cost a shilling. I've still got half of it left.

Thanks gness. I know what squad is saying but the actual amount isn't the issue, its the fact that these people work long hard hours to make a living and don't deserve to loose out whether its £1.40 or £140. But as I said, wouldn't bother at all if it was a large firm

ROFL @ JD
:-)
As long as you repay it before next Easter, it'll be ok.
Question Author
Thanks Tills, probably pop it in around xmas time then ;-)
Beneath it all, you are just a big softie, Nailit. You have a lot of compassion in your soul. ;-)
Question Author
Aww, thank you Tills. Despite what people may think about me, I DO have a conscience and know what its like to be owed something that is rightfully yours...
Well , included in our shopping a few weeks ago at Asda , was two pizzas - the checkout girl only charged for one

It was only £3.60 but we went back and told them

They said it was ok.
( which we expected )
Question Author
