Last February 2017 I had an accident and reported everything to my Solicitor - and between my friend and myself composed every single detail that happened that day. Nothing more to add.

I contacted said Solicitor there now (altho I couldn't remember his name) there are a few Solicitors in the practice.

Got a voice mail to say they would contact me back which they did and it was a receptionist who was going to start all over again per se.

I wasn't going there - oh I'll get the Solicitor to ring you (the Solicitor I had the meeting with) has now left. That's that. My friend who was with me that day sadly died last Christmas.

I said I wanted an update on what was happening. "Oh I'll get Mr So&So (another solicitor) to type you a letter". She said it was the norm for staff/solicitors to leave all the time.

Where does this leave me as I really don't have much to add to anything I have already said. Is this an easy transition from one Solicitor to another.

who are you suing via your solicitor? are you talking of a car accident?

Yes I was knocked down by a motorist last February

Anyway am wondering would I be penalised if I eventually changed my mind re this Solicitor and move to a completely different Solicitor in a different practice.

I know I left it for over a year for me to contact them but is this the norm - or what is the norm - do you wait longer for action to be taken

Whys did you not just go to a no-win / no-fee company who specialise in this type of ambulance chasing claim?

Zacs - I was very ill after this accident and extremely confused - I had 3 bones broke on the collar bone, a broken shoulder blade and a variety of lumps on my head - but continued to pretend to be ok. It was little more than month when I and my friend went to see Solicitor.

This friend of mine is and was my confidante in everything I do and so she organised all of this for me and I went with the flow.

I really don't know much about no win no fee business but if it is conducted in England etc I couldn't do the telephone side with my hearing loss.

Friend was actually dying of cancer too at that time so all in all - "ten p with the mix up"

an update - I called another solicitor who said that since the "old" solicitor hasn't acted as of yet - she can take my case on - and has reassured me "old" solicitor will not penalise me.

Why isn't your insurance company dealing with this?

Sorry - I assumed the OP was driving or was a passenger in a vehicle. It's not clear from the post that apparently she was a pedestrian.
