Free Prescription When 60?

When the OAP was first introduced in 1911 the qualifying age was 70, the rate was 5s (25p) per week. Incredible though it seems, 25p in those days would pay a week's rent, fuel and food.

Yes, it’s just about the only benefit left at 60.
Apart from my NHS pension.

Eye tests are free to 60+, also bus passes.

..Yes thank heavens, they didn't take that from us, surprised they didn't put it back to pension age with everything else.
