Ive had to make 8 bus journeys today.
On 2 of them (not one, but two) ive had to sit next to someone who stank.
WHY?
Why cant some people smell themselves?
Ive said before on here that ive got a bit of a thing about personal hygiene and I get that my own personal preferences arnt for everyone. But I just don't get that some people cant smell themselves?
If I sweat, I can smell it. If my clothes smell, I can smell them (and wash them).
I find it obnoxious and offensive having to sit next to people who smell of stale urine and old, unwashed clothes.

Can you smell yourself? I certainly can if I pong?

Ive got a bike but today I had a lot of travelling to do so got an all day ticket and had to sit next to stinky people.
Dirty b'stards...
Had a right poxy day today... you've made me laugh nailit thx m8 ;-)
Think yourself lucky. I always get the moaning minnie chatterbox sitting next to me. I must have the kind of face that people think they can talk to.

I must admit, though, that travelling on public transport does have it's issues. Smelly ones usually.

OK. Threads a little bit jokey, but seriously, WHY?
Why do people smell?
I bath everyday (sometimes twice a day) I change my shirt, underwear and socks everyday. Wear anti-perspirant everyday.
And I *STILL* smell myself when I'm pongy. So why don't others?
I just don't get it. Surely you know if you've got B.O or ur clothes smell like they have just come out of the ashtray?

And why is it mostly old people that smell?
My mum is old and doesn't smell.
I had to jump on the bandwagon with at least one protest... evreyone else seems to have one.
Joking aside I don't understand it either, if someone had being working all day and heading home for the shower eg... fine, understandable.
I do really think you have a point about folk not being able to smell themselves whether it be through no fault of their own or not.
It's awful isn't it. I've noticed it many a times in Super markets while shopping.
My mum would say, 'Monkeys don't smell their own muck.'
^^^^^^^
and it's relatively young people!
I agree Nailit. I have to shower everyday otherwise I am just not comfortable. Sometimes twice a day in the summer . No excuse to be stinky.

Thanks Arc.
One of the 'people' was obviously NOT heading home after a day a work. And she stunk! And I was sat next to her as well.
Put me right off my pasty...
I don't really want to participate in this jokey thread, only to point out " why is it mostly old people who smell " ?
Tilly, did you get the hint.

Then don't then, its not rocket science is it?
//" why is it mostly old people who smell " ? //
You tell me.
Many elderly people are very conscious of the expense of heating their homes/water, also access to a bath may be difficult for some.

Don’t be too quick to judge without considering the bigger picture.
