Sqad...you've never made any (substantial)comments , and I suspected that you may have thought the prognosis was not good. I may be wrong of course.
Great news Pasta, you must all be thrilled.

We're getting there mamya... cautiously. It's all very slow and steady. x
pasta LOL...LOL...don't read between the lines.
I NEVER make comments......stupid....they all say "pleased to hear"...now I ask, who would say "I am NOT pleased to hear?"

What does confuse me pasta is that a couple of weeks ago we were talking about "double pneumonia " and now we are talking about "skin grafts"
Is age catching up on me?
Now you can relax a while.
Question Author
Sqad...maybe age...LOL ;-)
It was mild or slight pneumonia...that cleared up quickly.
Question Author
I didn't finish...
My brother had sepsis. So..pneumonia...infection...dialysis(no longer needed)...skin graft for leg that was attacked by sepsis.
Rehab to gain strength and learn to walk again...as I understand it via my sister in law.
Really happy to hear this Pasta x
pasta....O.K...but what's this skin graft?

My assessment, is that your brother has cirrhosis and has been dialysed on a temporary basis to get his toxins out of his body.
Now...after a couple of sessions of dialysis, there will be TWO situations:

1) the liver has returned to normal.....no further dialysis...good result.
2) the liver has not recovered, in which case a decision will have to be made re.liver transplant......if he is fit enough.

But....what is this skin graft?
pasta....ah! we crossed posts.
Right.....the prognosis will depend upon the result of the dialysis as i explained.
pleased for your brother and you xx
That is good news pasta.
Good wishes to you both. Once he is home it will be a big relief
Question Author
I was told that the sepsis ate away the skin/ flesh on his leg.
I'm not sure as I'm trying not to read too much ( and sis in law is not the best at answering my queries)...but I assume it's like/is necrotising fasciitis.
Question Author
He was on dialysis for several weeks...had a setback infection so was back in ICU...then started to produce urine normally, so dialysis was stopped.
Question Author
Again...thank you all for the positive thoughts.
Glad to hear this, Pasta.....long time to be in hospital...hope he's home and well very soon.....x
Good news this, pasta. Hope you get the chance to go over to the USA to see him when he's been let out of hospital.
