The Wedding. Different Perspective

Viewed 'the wedding' at my mums today. Was planning on avoiding it myself but she had it on while I was doing a bit of painting there so couldn't entirely escape the event.
However, I heard that there had been people there that had been camped out since Thursday to catch a view of the happy couple.
I had to ask myself WHY?
I wish Harry and Megan the best of luck but just don't get this sycophantic adulation of what is basically just two people tying the knot?

Am I missing something?

Those who visited Windsor did so because they wanted to and from what I could tell they enjoyed their time.

I don't need to question their motives whether they were local or from the other side of the World - good luck to them.

Nailit, you're not missing anything - lots (and lots) of people find this 'camping out for days to see a wedding, mark the arrival of a new royal baby...' very strange. So long as nobody asks me to do it, I don't mind what others do.

We didn't turn on TV, stayed on Radio 4 - but it was on there as well!
Some good music - the young cellist I remember from 'Young Musician' and this must be his biggest audience. I wish them well, but, no - I don't get the adulation. Think campers-out are barmy, but that's their choice.

Hotels, b&b are full. Tents & caravans were welcome on crown land from Thursday eve. Visitors arrived from far & wide to enjoy the pomp & ceremony. Royal weddings dont happen everyday!
