Hi girls,

I have had my GHD's for a couple of years now. I don't use them everyday but when I was using them last night, I was convinced they're not as hot as they used to be. Has this happened to anyone elses? Did you get them fixed or should I just add a new set to my crimbo wish list?

TIA xx

Well...i have GHD's now, and have never had a problem with them. However, before my GHD's i had a similar pair, which were normally great to use...however after a while, they either took ages to heat up, or werent as hot. I then discovered a small hole in the wire, where i saw slight sparking. I took them to be checked, and the electrician said i had a "blow hole" which meant the wires were sparking together inside the wire, and if they had reached the straighteners, they would have electrocuted me!! I dont mean to alarm you, and i am not saying that will be the problem with yours. But if it continues to happen, i would recommend gettin them checked by someone, in case they are faulty. hope this helps xx

Hi, I have just purchased a new pair of GHD's because of this! Mine weren't heating up as much as they did when I first bought them, I have had them for about 18 months and have heard people say the same thing. So I decided to buy some new ones.
OK Dak - you have to write out what things are! Being from another part of the world (and based on past posts of yours), I just assumed that GHDs were some sort of naughty toy until I looked them up online!!! PMSL!
I have a pair made by a company called Kona and they are professional ones, and they are not as hot as they used to be. I have had them about 21/2 years. They are still way way better than GHD's though

Thanks for your replies girls, I will just add a new pair to my crimbo wish list and hope someone loves me enough to spend that kind of money - if now, I'll be the one walking around with candyfloss hair :s

Estie - You manky toot!!!

Hey thanks for this guys, I was going to invest in some GHDs but don't think I'll bother now after reading the above - might just go for the Opti-Smooth treatment instead!
