Ridiculous Accident...
22 Answers
Ok so last wed I had the most stupid accident. It was very very early morning and I was hot. So I went into the bathroom to put my hair in a ponytail. I flung my head forward to brush the underneath of my hair and didn’t realise how close I wa to the sink, and basically smashed my forehand onto it, almost knocking myself out. Sort of came to on floor with blood running down my face. To cut long story short ended up with gash , being cleaned and then glued at medical centre. Told I had huge haematoma, which I could see , and which would disperse. But today it’s hurting more than ever. Literally throbbing like mad. I know it’s obviously badly bruised but didn’t expect it to feel worse. Would it help to put ice on it ? or anything? Or will that make it worse?

Looking at it (still not fixed) there's a hole in the glass and it's cracked to all 4 corners. I was really lucky.
It will hurt Smow. Look at it like working out....the pain kicks in after a few days. Initially you get an instant adrenaline rush which is a type of pain killer, that wears off and the pain kicks in. xx

Poor you, sounds very painful. Can only reiterate what others have said. If you have ice cubes put them in a plastic bag, wrap in a tea towel and bash the living daylights out of them with a rolling pin. Check bag is still intact and use as cold compress, still wrapped in the tea towel. Be careful what you do with the rolling pin, don't put it anywhere near your head!

Hi Canary. I had to go back to the medical centre yesterday - 6 days after accident - as was still in so much pain. She said the only thing she can think of is because the skin on my forehead is so tight there is nowhere for the pressure /blood clot to disperse (?). Wanted me to go to A & E for x day but seriously couldn’t cope with that in this heat. So she gave me antibiotics in case there’s an infection she can’t see. Then it started bleeding again right whilst I was say with her - after 8 days x
