When I was a child, i could fold my ear - you take the top 'rim' bit - turn it inside out, fold the ear in half, and then tuck it inside. Don't bother trying it, I haven't done if your years, and when I tried just, I couldn't do it, it hurt!
My other bad habits are between me and my therapist!
i'm always biting the inside of my mouth. my other terrible habit is biting my cuticles; not my nails. sometimes i'll literally make the skin bleed. its a subconscious thing i do when i'm nervous.
my other terrible habit is almost an oral fixation: i constantly have to have something in my mouth (sexual inuendoes aside) if it's not a fag, it'll be coffee, tea, chewing gum, mints, sweets, food, pens, hair etc. i'm sure that this is freudian!! anyone else like this?
When I'm in bed at night I put the heel of one foot in between the big toe and the one next it! (on the opposite foot obviously lol) When I was little I used to panic a bit when I caught myself doing it cause I thought I would end up with a deformed foot!
My husband is the worst though! He taps out ryhthms with his hands if they are idle and his feet if he is using his hands. He also just jigs his foot. I always know when he is feeling down because the jigging stops, bizarrely. When he is really concentrating or is excited about something (normally something to with work, or progamming or something) he jigs out of all control. The bloke who sits opposite him at work threatened to take him to HR if he didn't stop Jigging LOL. he said the jiggin gwas making the table wobble and was the sole cause of his recurrent migraines!!! I seem to be the only one doesn't mind the tapping, I normally try to puzzle out which tune it is, hehehehehe.
I am a chewer too. I particularly like to chew pieces of plastic. The best ones are the bits out of the end of a bic biro. Nowadays, they have made it more difficult to bite them out though, ho-hum.
I also bite my cheeks and have recently tried (and am failing) to stop biting my nails after 25 years, which makes it worse. Sometimes I bite so much that they turn into mouth ulcers.
Am glad other people do it too! Do you think it means we are fidgety people who have to be doing something all the time? I find when I'm reading it's at it's worse as I just don't realise I'm doing it!
