im in bulgaria, i needed some vitB thiamine and bought some vials from a pharmacy. today about 2 hour ago i injected but i think i put some air into vien as my arm swole up , it has since went down a little but i can feel it still there.
now im worried as i read up on " air imbolism " can be fatal. causing heart attck, lung failure, stroke.

should i get straight to doctor or hope it goes away ? have anyone any expirience of this. can i mend it or do something myself to fix it ?
cheers

Not to worry, the small amount of air wouldn't cause problems and in any case, the swelling at the puncture site, meant that you missed the vein and probably no air was injected.
No big deal
If your arm was swollen it was more likely a local reaction, try an antihistamine if it starts getting hot or itchy and don't use any more of the batch.
rowan...sounds more like a haematoma.
Sqad, (@ 10.35)think you convinced pumpjack that he would live because at 10.36 he was on another of his threads asking how to improve his credit rating. :)))
Captain...LOL...LOL...yes i noticed that...;-)
You would die pretty quickly if you are going to so if you are reading this good news! You're going to survive! I too think you probably have extravasation. Are you a lay person? Are you used to finding and injecting into your own veins?

pasta......even trained phlebotomists can *** it up occasionally.

It is not a dangerous procedure providing that you are scrupulous with hygiene ( wash you hands and use sterile needles).
I have to admit, sqad,it's not something I'd want to do. And yes, I know even professionals get things wrong sometimes.
LOL......no, me neither pasta, plus the fact that I'm a coward.
600mg of Ibuprofen every 4 hours, monitor - and 3 bottles of oxygen. Note there's a shortage of CO2 so don't drink the local beer.
You're so VAIN, I bet you think this thread is about you !

[only joking, don't get offended]

On a serious note, I hope everything works out fine for you.
