About an hour ago, I fell backwards and landed on my bottom. I won't go into details as to how I did it. The thud, as I fell, knocked me sick but I didn't actually vomit. I didn't bang my head. I managed to get myself up off the floor and drive home.

My lower back hurts, particularly on walking upstairs and now I have a really bad headache. Was it the jolt, up my spine, that is causing the headache? I have taken two ibuprofen.

Thank you, Toorak.

Yes, a physical and mental shock...I still can't believe I fell over. :-(
I once managed a very dramatic exit from our house. when walking down the front steps waving to my neighbour my feet suddenly flew from under me and I landed on my bottom (slippery algae/moss). The loss of dignity was probably worse than the actual physical pain.

Like I said, Toorak, you feel such a fool. :-)

In the same sort of circumstances Tills, its only ever been my ego that has been wounded (probably turn up on you've been framed some time in the future....)
sending you a big ab hug ,hope you feel better soon xx
Question Author
Yes, thankfully, wounded pride not wounded body. However, both produce a few aches.
Question Author
Thanks for the hug, Mallyh. I needed that. :-)
well, your body's clearly been a bit wounded and everything jarred from pelvis to skull. I'd be calling my osteopath, but otherwise a hot bath and nurofen is probably the treatment of choice.
silly billy..hope you are better soon xx
Tills, just reminded me of a time when I was about 12/13 yrs of age. It was coming up to xmas and me, my mum and my sister were crossing the road by the old Tesco's in Hanley. The roads were icy and me and my sister both fell at the same time crossing the road. Everyone rushed to help my sister up while I was left to get up by myself and lick my wounds (and embarrassed ego)...
((Tilly)) - I hope you feel better soon x
Question Author

Thanks to all of you. Just had a hot shower and will take more ibuprofen later. Headache slowly diminishing and I've stopped shaking.

Jno, I don't have an ostepath. I hope I never need one. Thanks for the advice though.

Thank for the extra hug, LiK. :-)
Hope ur ok tilly xxx
Big hug for you x
Question Author
No big deal, feeling better by the minute. Thanks again all of you. I have missed a few responses because I've been keeping moving. I'm ok.

Another hug from Volty. Lovely. :-)
If your tail bone has been hurt - you will have pain for a few weeks. I forget the medical name of that.
jj, I think it's paininthebumitis
Well, Tilly, now that you know you've go a BA button it's now time to get a FD button:)
Question Author
Up and about and not too bad this morning. No harm done.

What's an FD button, Sanmac? A Fall Down button? I don't want one of them.
