We have had a few suicides this week and one of the guy's family who died asked for money in lieu of flowers as often happens.
When we donate to all the other charities ie cancer etc we know that the money can go to research to help these illnesses but can anybody tell me how money can help suicide victims. Thanks

Some do take notice I know but suicide is happening so often in our town I can't help but feel like JJ on how will it help them not wanting help - I've had a suicide in my family and nothing would have stopped that as it was totally out of character of family member
//but sometimes a person who is too far gone can't even manage that final call//
And even when they do, mental health services often dont take them seriously. As you all know, I spent a couple of weeks in the nut hut last year. When I first phoned them and told them that I was seriously suicidal (after very nearly jumping of a bridge) I was given the advice to calm myself down and make a cup of tea. It was only when I turned up at the mental health clinic and told them that If I walked out of that place I fully intended to jump under the first bus or lorry that I saw, (and that Id left a note for the coroner detailing my trying...and not recieving...help) that I managed to get some help.
Ive lost friends through suicide because mental health services are for the most part rubbish when dealing with depressed and suicidal people.
