Every so often I get what like tiny bubbles on my fingertips, they look white and are slightly tender but not painful. After a couple of days the skin hardens and cracks, then falls away. Again the exposed skin is tender but not painful, and the skin returns to normal quite quickly. Typically, this is never happening when I visit the GP, but doesn't seem to justify a special visit. I wondered if it indicated some vitamin deficiency or the like, or might be related to hitting a computer keyboard too much. Any ideas gratefully received. Thanks guys.

There is some sort of ezcema that you only get on your hands and feet called pompholyx or something which in a mild form could possibly be what you describe ?????? However that normally is on the rest of the fingers too ...

I used to get the most almighty rash type thing on my hands if I touched paper too much - eg if filing old files all day. It was due to the paper drying my hands out too much (sort of). Came in the form of lots of little white raised spots on the palms of my hands which itched like hell and were quite tender. The doc gave me all sorts for it, steroid creams and such, but the only thing that helped was keeping my hands creamed up with aqueous cream (and keeping away from the files, good excuse).
I get that too! It is a form of Dermatitis and I get it when touching coins and in the Summer when it is hot. I use a strong steroid cream which is the only thing that works.
