Precognition?
5 Answers
Vladimir Nabokov believed that dreams were not only a jumbled re-arrangement of your passed events, (the oft heard explanation) but actually were also capable, in some manner of predicting the future. I have often heard people say, "that broke my dream!" indicating that something had happened of which they had previously dreamt.
Last night I had an unusual and powerful dream, and this morning, the very first think I read, - a book review in the TLS - related directly to it and reminded me of the dream, which I could then return to and remember in vivid detail.
Has anyone had experiences like this?

One I particularly remember was when I had a vision of people trapped in a small place with flames around them. I was quite young and woke-up before going back to sleep, but disturbed enough to mention it to mum and sister in the morning. Later on the news we heard about an American spacecraft going up in flames as it launched Can't remember the details - but I remember the picture in my head.
Once, Khandro.....a very long and involved tale but a short version......
I woke up one morning having seen a place where my grandmother and I were together...... a friend who had died a month before walked towards me in the dream but I refused to let him touch me as it meant I would die.
He took hold of my grandmother's hands.......when I woke I told the others in the house that Gran had died......
We got a telegram that day to say she had died and I had to take my family to catch the train for Ireland.....the station was the place I'd seen in my dream....down to the last detail and I'd never before been there.
I just don't look forward to another dream about the friend walking towards me.... :-)

I'm not sure that this is the type of thing you want but, here goes.
When I was almost 4, in 1952, I remember, and can see it now, going with my mother to get coal from the 'coalhole' at the side of the house during the morning. It was snowing and I can 'see' the lady from across the road coming across and saying to my mother, Oh, isn't it awful, the King's dead.
My mother always swore this never happened, even though I described so many things from the house, she said that my father had brought her a cup of tea before he went out to work at about 7am and told her.
In recent years with the various Jubilees and anniversaries I have found out that the news was released at 11 am but as my mother is deceased I can't get any further with her insistence. It's really spooked me in the last few years.

On Monday night I had an unusually vivid dream about an old neighbour of mine that I havnt seen for at least 3 years. We wernt the best of neighbours and had many an altercation whilst we were. I had no reason for him to be in my memory, subconscious or otherwise, or in my dream. The next day (yesterday) I bumped in to him...almost literally. We both gave each other a frost stare and carried on but it was a bit unnerving as the dream was still fresh in my mind from the night before.
I dont believe in pregognition but a simple thing like this played on my mind for the rest of the day.
Strangly enough, I dreamt about him again last night but that wasnt surprisng.
