Dave and I have to mix and match our furniture between two homes....one here and one in Ireland.....

Now, I hate red.....pillar box red not red hair of course....probably because I grew up listening to The Wearing of the Green.
I have nothing red in my home....I never wear red....and Dave has four bloody red bookcases to put somewhere.... :-(

So....does the laid back me....

a: Accommodate those bookcases and smile.
b: Paint them green.
c: Set fire to them.
d: Pay the removal men to drop them off the ferry on the way to Ireland.

Your suggestions will be much appreciated.....thanks...Gx

Keep 'em, and learn to love them, red is for passion and it's an action colour, so I dunno... drop em off the Ferry I'm out of justifications for them :) x
Bookcases make great tool shelves in the garage....

Well research has shown, Kval that brown is the most passionate colour for a bedroom....I have two brown bedrooms so what does that say about me?....and red's a fairly cruel colour I think....x

Shoota....I have three bookcases in my garage......some even have books on them but of course others have my power tools.... :-)
7 bookcases!
That's just greedy...
Definitely paint them.
Question Author
It is, Shoota...he should just ditch his...x

I think so, Mamya....I'm a dab hand with spray paint.....and I could really bling them up.....whatever Dave thinks...x
On reflection, I think bookcases fall into the same category as sheds, knives and mistresses - a man cannot have too many of them.
My advice is to paint your three red and gift them to him and make him a contented bibliophile.
Question Author
So....how many have you, Shoota....sheds...knives and mistresses?

And no....I just couldn't bring myself to paint anything red.....that would make me sad.... :-(
Did I say mistresses?
I meant mattresses, got a fair few of them...

:-)....I do like you.....night....sleep well...x

Paint them with soft grey chalk paint outside with mad colours on every level inside. Maybe graduated shades from dark to light in a colour you do like. Blue or green would look good.
kindly suggest to Dave that they don't / won;t match anything you have, tell him straight that you don't like red, what can you lose,

by the way i dont always catch up with what's happening on ab. Dave is that someone i should know about, someone on AB
Sunny Dave, really tall chap, as opposed to Gness, the shortest of the munchkins. Not sure how they manage without Dave putting his back out but Gness has an inventive streak.
ah that Dave, so a romance, how lovely...
You never know what you will find on here.
from what has just been said, turn them into step-ladders.

It must be like a great Dane with a Chihuahua....
I'd use my movers..they seemed to lose quite a lot in transit !
Mine were ok but I didn't trust them with anything precious.
Another thought for the bookcases. Wallpaper them with the library shelf design, it would look seriously strange.
