i can make a great fruit cake but sponges no ,today I have just attempted cupcakes they are in the oven as we speak hope they are ok, my sponges from passed attempts could have been used as discus x

Is there a difference between a cup cake and a Fairy cake?. I love cooking but baking is one culinary skill I avoid.
This question arose between wife and I only a couple of days ago when listening to LBC. She say's no difference.

Not a lot of difference then depending on the size you bake it and what you top it with.

Good luck Mally, bet they’re delicious.
I’m like retro, love cooking but can’t be done with the precision involved with baking.
My other half really enjoys baking, treats it like a scientific experiment and measures everything exactly.
And leaves the kitchen a total mess!
What flavour are your cupcakes? Himself bakes a lovely lemon and poppy seed one.

I've done plain ones but going to split them and put strawberry jam and cream in them .I got them all out the cases without a drill , hubby pinched one and said it tasted great xx

We are lucky there is a local bakery near us that bakes all its cakes on the premises and sells them only at the bakery or in their shop 5 miles away. LOTS of people buy them and claim to have made them at home.
