At my weigh in this morning I reached a milestone.
90% of excess weight lost meaning I only have 10 kilos to go.
So very happy.
I now weigh less than when I started dating my husband.

Indeed, I’ve thought of her a few times this week due to where we are. She’d be one of the loudest cheering you on x

Very well done, RR. Have you something nice planned for when you reach your target?
Saying "congratulations" doesn't seem enough for what you've achieved. There must be a grander word...;-). A fantastic accomplishment.

Sorpiojo - horse riding again - can't wait as it was something I loved to do but not to the extent that I used to - I basically spent every free hour in the saddle!
Thanks Pasta xx
I think Mr RR should buy you a horse... ;-)
Well, great news. I'm sure it's been difficult at times ? :-)
I have thoroughly enjoyed following your journey, Rockrose. You have shown enormous strength of character and focus whilst not underestimating the other side of your goal. So glad you have the support of a loving and caring hubby too.

You have not only been inspiring but have covered your journey on here with a refreshing honesty. We have seen some of the bullying and jibes on here that you have risen above, with great credit to you.

Truly you deserve your success and I can only wish you sincerely the very best for the future.

Annea it has, I know many see it as cheating due to the surgery, but I still have to balance calorie, proteins and fats. Ensure I eat on a regular basis which is difficult as I don't feel hunger and manage my cravings as certain foods can make me very ill.
having the surgery certainly wasn't an easy decision but I believe it saved my life - I truly believe I would have killed myself through eating otherwise.

Thank you choux xx
Blimey. That is amazing xx I'm no expert, but I can't see an operation as "cheating". Surely it is only the first small step? The rest is down to you. Well done xx
WELL DONE !!!!!! you must be so proud of yourself xxx
Well done you! You can be very proud of yourself...x
well done, you......so how long for the 10 kilos, year end? (the old adage about losing a kilo a week and no more, to keep it off and avoid gall bladder issues).
Cheating !!!!! I think not. You used your hard earned cash. I'm sure you will reach all you deserve soon .

Thanks all.
DTC no gallbladder was ripped out the same time as my stomach due to having a stone the size of a golfball!
Congratulations RR, words are hard to find to praise your achievement. Well done.x

Would love to do it by Christmas (the last 10 kilos) but will be happy to do it by the end of January which will be 2 years.
what happens when you reach your weight? You can't start eating more for maintenance, so how do you STOP losing weight?
Question Author
hmmm that's a good question bednobs, apparently my food intake should have strictly increased by now to slow down the weightloss and eventually it will stop as I will be able to take in more food.
However, that goal that I am nearly at will take me to the very maximum weight that my surgeon gave me - I could go lighter and it not bother me - but I am a tad vain and don't want to look old before my time.
It has slowed but no where near where they were expecting it to be.
I *think* that if someone eats for maintenance but continues to lose, then they've not reached the weight that is natural for them. As long as that weight is healthy.
Rockrose, I have said before how very well I think you've done - a real life battle. Anyone who undertakes this and succeeds is a real inspiration and gives hope to others.

Best wishes to all who are on their own journey.x
I suspect pasta is right. As long as you are eating enough to live on, your weight should settle at a natural level.
