Are These Results Okay For Me Or Are They For ...
11 Answers
I have just found a piece of paper in my desk with medical results. They are in relation to kidney problems. It says USG 1.036 and creatinine 180.
The only problem I have (and don't laugh) are these figures correct for a human with Lithium related kidney problems or for a cat who has chronic kidney disease?
I haven't indicated which of us it is on the paper.

I have what is termed 'chronic kidney disease' with a creatine level of 180-ish, and all I 'get' is monitored once a year to make sure it hasn't gone up. Consultant told me some years ago that I'd probably die of heart failure of some sort before I died of kidney failure! (I liked his bluntness...)
Hope it's not more serious, and hope it's not your cat whose got kidney problems - far more serious in a cat than a human.

Oh, hang on a moment. Confusingly, 'USG' seems to have TWO (different) medical meanings. USG could refer to taking the wee-wee (literally). In which case a figure of 1.036 is only just outside the 'normal' range:

Frankie is 13 and does have ckd. He has to eat special food which he hates.
No ultrasound for me in last couple of years. The £400 vets bill for dental work could have included an ultrasound but? I don't think so.
I was taken off one of my HBP drugs to try and fix kidney problems.
If I actually listened to and remembered what docs tell me it would be simpler.
Forgot to say I am diabetic due to having PCOS
I'm going for a nap before getting back to valuing Oxfam postcards. Some really nice ones donated to us last week.
