Just eaten, was going to have a stroll to the Local, bit it's really chucked it down a couple of times in last hour or so, so not going to chance it, going to have a couple of G & Ts and an earlyish night, back on the train again 08:30ish.

I'm trying not to let it get me down and setting about cooking for the freezer which doesnt need daylight! But I know how you feel. How about a bit if early evening TV tonight? Great Canal Journeys on 4 and Inside Harrods on 5.

Hi, Emmie.....much as I love summer I spend most of it outdoors so winter evenings are great for curling up with some knitting or crochet and finding things to watch on TV......x

Mmm.....my mother-in-law was a great knitter...never without a project til she developed arthritis and couldn't hold the needles.....really got her down...x

Is crocheting easier to do if you have arthritis? Just the one needle?

I don't do a lot differently, just earlier with the lights and curtains really.

Despite having to abandon most craft projects due to eyesight I am determined to do something.

Going to make a Pom Pom Christmas door decoration, can't go too far wrong there and the shop ones are expensive.

i can sew a little bit, but even that's difficult in trying now to thread a needle. Just gone half past four and its already getting dark, booo.

i just bought some charity Christmas cards on line, drawn by the wonderful Quentin Blake. Seems that the season to be jolly is fast approaching, notwithstanding the Halloween festivities.

I wouldn't know about that, Tilly.....but I guess a project using large needles would be easier than fine work...though the pain is perhaps an issue.
I hate that my sight isn't great, Mama......I have to choose what to sew when despite having really good lights. Sewing the black project I have on the go just now makes me look like a rabbit in headlights... :-(

Agreed, it does make it tough.

That's the next thing to dig out, card making supplies - have treated myself to a glue gun at long last.

these are really funny. I don;t send that many out now but i always send one to my Aussie friends. The rest go to family, thought i would start the ball rolling with some cards.

think i will watch strictly anyway, i would miss it i'm sure if i didn't watch, especially when the professional dancers are so good at their routines.

Thinking about the eyesight problems.....I was taught at a very young age to knit and sew by two lovely ladies from Islay. They were quite elderly and struggled at times to thread a needle.
I remember the child in me...the one with perfect vision thinking......
Oh for goodness sake...just try harder!
If only I knew what was ahead.... :-)
