why do people think simply because they work face to face with customers they deserve a tip?
I think in the UK tipping is just not a thing.. Why do bartenders expect tips?
I've seen one online kicking off because they didn't get any yesterday.. If they're kicking off cus they didn't get any then in my opinion, they don't deserve any.
Stay humble, you don't deserve nada. Everyone works, not everyone gets free tips.
Imagine tipping a checkout person after they scan your shopping.. Ludicrous so why tip a bartender after they make your drink? It's ya job. Need more pay? Get a better job. Many people around would love to work at a bar just for the experience and not care about tips.
The Sqads are big tippers, always have been , always will be and will certainly get you a good table next time and good service.
The only other way to receive good service is to get knighted, but i would suggest tipping as a method to start with.
We tip bartenders if we buy a large round of drinks we offer them one depending on the establishment that’s ether a drink or a couple of quid in a pot having worked in bars it helps top up the wages
I'm sure it would help top up the wages in any profession. Like checkout staff, after you pay for your shopping why not just give them more money than necessary?
It could also help in professions such as a ticket salesman etc.. etc..
It's more them expecting it (tips) in the UK, makes me feel sick lol.
So you go pay couple hundred quid for a blow dry then give them extra? I'm sure they;'re doing just fine, why not tip yourself for getting you there / driving etc..
I tip the girl who dries my hair (my blowdry costs nowhere near a couple of hundred pounds), taxi drivers, waiting staff and window cleaner because that's the custom in this country.
If anyone tried to sit me where i didn't want to be seated i'd say so and wait for a table to become available. I'm the customer, i go for the experience i want not one they;ll try to force on me tip or not.
As for taxi drivers, they make absolute bank. Why would i tip them when they charge me to the nearest 20 pence?
yes, when a waitress or bar staff expects to get tipped, and gets salty when they don't, that attitude makes me feel sick. Not the process of tipping, it's the attitude.
I'll always tip taxis, and if the food/service is good I'll tip in restaurants.
Many in the service industry make ridiculously low wages. Why not tip someone who is on their feet for long shifts, dealing with often ignorant and demanding customers?
