It's unbearable at times. I scratch so much, the skin gets damaged and sore. Sometimes bruised if it's top of arm but it's usually forearm. Can't seem to satisfy the itch! It's been going on for a few years on and off but worse last couple of months. Anyone else experience this?
I had this problem last year, and people said it was the detergent I was using (Ariel). I've changed to Fairy and haven't had a problem since. It's to do with being non-bio I think.
I get this and after research put it down to the unknown cause of 'winter itch' because that's when I get it and each year it's often a different part of my body. Of course there are other medical reasons for itchy skin, apart from allergy, that I suppose you could get investigated further.
I'll try that Scorpiojo, I've tried the ordinary one but haven't tried the itch one. Thanks.
Helly, don't think it's wasing powder, as I try different ones. Surely itching would be all over it that was the case? Thanks for the suggestion though.
Prudie, I get it all year round on occasions, but must admit it does seem worse this winter. I do remember telling doctor a couple of years ago, she said to moisturiser and put it down to nervous itch.
I've also got itchy skin on one arm and along my collar bones. I thought it might be down to my using a non-bio washing powder. I changed back to my original powder but the rash and itching are still present.
I used to get this...fore arms and along my shins. I kind of narrowed it down to elastic used in socks and stretchy jumper sleeves. Washing detergent was also a problem...I only use non-bio now.
Do you have psoriasis? I have this at the moment on top of my right foot. Itches and burns like mad especially at night time. Daren't scratch it in case I break the skin which is very fragile so I just have to smother it with Diprobase cream .
Rowanwitch, I think mine is probably stress related. The E45 one, is especially for itching. I know you can get the basic one. Just been reading about Brachioradial pruritus. Could possibly be that. It mentions the Trigeminal nerve, and I do on occasions get trigeminal neuralgia.
It could be contact dermatitis, which I get on my hands sometimes. Hydrocortisone cream may be effective as this works well on itchy skin. You could ask your pharmacist.
