Are there any ladies on here taking HRT after the age of 60?
My gp seems reluctant to prescribe, it although I am having terrible menopausal symptoms, very short temper, anger, hatefulness,
as well as what I presume to be, the usual aches pains and hot flushes, My last very heavy bleed was just under 2 years ago, so I am very late starting it.

You are very late starting I think but I can't see that is a reason for not taking HRT. Is age the reason your GP seems reluctant to prescribe?

I didn't know that but had I been a late starter and as ill as I was I'd have fought for HRT.
I had friends who sailed through it......I'm not a wuss but lord was I ill.......nearly broke up my marriage and there were times when I could have killed someone and that's not me.
The real me arrived a couple of weeks after applying the patches and it was bliss.
I'm going to look into the age thing out of curiosity....it's interesting.
Will you insist on being prescribed HRT?

I've been advised not to take hrt, as my younger sister had breast cancer, after a couple of years taking it. That put me right off.
Apparently, some low dose antidepressants, can work very well in reducing hot flushes. Which I know to be true, as I take one of them. Also, my moods are more even. It is miserable and I hope you can sort something out soon, to alleviate these horrible symptoms.
