Tactile Pen Or Pencil?

Has anyone ever seen a pen or pencil that, when drawn with, for example, leaves a tactile line which can be felt or touched? Ta Muchly.

I have seen those demo'd and they aren't very good. Do you need the line to be instantaneous? My two suggestions would be to use a stylus on thick soft card that would leave a channel that could be felt, or to use a glue pen and then sprinkle fine sand over the glue, shake off the excess and let the glue dry. It depends a bit on why you want to use it for, also on the sensitivity of the fingers of the toucher

Hi Woof, it's because I need a new technique to do my paintings, using thin lines of plasticine only goes so far, then it breaks or...but I thought that summat that would give me a fixed line as I drew, would be great. I have found one supplier, but they are in the US and don't ship over here - MaxiAids they are called and they sell tactile pens. I am in desperate need of a new way of drawing as it is so frustrating to have my work undo sometimes when I work on it - I can't suggest you see my art work now, as my site has been taken down by my ISP - for no serious reasons I hasten to add!...yet again I checked for email notification, but didn't get any - any idea AB Editor?...but Many Thanks Woof and sorry very sorry for my "rant" and Ta to you too Vulcan. Anywhere similar to MaxiAids in this country I wonder....?

I have got those souffle pens, they aren't hugely tactile. If a bottle of sqeezy stuff would work, which is what the tactile pen is, then this stuff is kind of the same Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation

Its widely available in the Uk, not expensive and easy to use. Dries in about an hour and can be used for other things than writing with. Holds its shape well but you need to let it dry...comes with glitter in too which makes it feel different from the smoother pearl kind. If you are used to using stips of stuff, maybe thin smooth string soaked in PVA or maybe this stuff which can be squeezed out wet like the other stuff I suggested, or squeezed out onto sheets of clear plastic in lines or shapes and peeled off when dry, it will then cling to smooth surfaces like plastic or glass, it won't stay there unless tacked down with drops of the wet stuff though. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Plaid-Gallery-Liquid-Leading-oz-Black/dp/B000XZVZ06

Pinflair glue gel is similar to bathroom silicon, but no smell and a finer consistency. it dries virtually clear and can be extruded from a fine nozzle syringe (no needle) again dries in around an hour, longer on a non porous surface. http://www.pinflair.co.uk/pinflair-glue-gel-kit

Hi woodelf,
would piercing/ punching the paper with something like a knitting needle point or similar then followed by painting it over work? Another idea I thought of was attaching/sticking string or garden twine and painting over?

I used to work for a blind lady, I had the idea of using my sewing machine to make a kind of braile line so that she was able to keep to the lines to write letters easier.

Hi Eleena, big smile and Ta for your ideas, but I tried the string thing yonks ago before moving onto plasticine, but you're a good 'n! Har har Danny! I'll have a look Woof, but I think the immediacy of a line there and then is what I need - anyone out there with connections in the States, family or otherwise?

woodelf, that tactile pen stuff looks to be like the perfect pearls I suggested. It clearly says "dries to" This review on american amazon says that the Hi mark needs to be left to dry overnight. Amazon.com User Recommendation
