we were all together for lunch
and the Dadz had a whack instead of the leddies
sti; quite stressful as kids ( er grankids ) in their twenties seem determined to trade at a loss throw stuff away and generally behave like teenagers .....
( and behave otherwise like fools - olds behave like fools ( there is no fool like an old fool etc) but not so expensively)
I try to deny it. My kids won’t let me. By refusing to participate I’m classified as a miserable chap. American commercial exploitation etc. But, they want to participate, so what the heck.
Sorry you haven’t had a good day, nailit.
My family isn’t really into it, but we have always given our dad and grandads a card or sent a text message on Fathers Day.
Gives me a chance to go graveside, open a can of John Smiths, toast my dad, pour some (not too much, mind) on the ground and drink the rest. If i did that on any other day, people would look at me and think i was deranged :-//
We had a good day, daughter, SIL and four grandchildren came for an indoor BBQ.
They brought OH an assortment of beers and four Father's Day cards.
I got SIL an assortment of beers and a card to say thank you for being a super father to them all.
Ate too much but a nice get together.
