My wife has been suffering from red, itchy swollen legs.
Hospital tests have ruled out DVT or cellulitis or any infection.
All she has are water tablets from the GP but she is still suffering.
In desperation she is considering trying Reiki.
Any thoughts.
(She has used loads of topological creams and lotions to no avail.)
So, despite hospital tests, no reason for her swollen ankles have been identified and if this is the case, then we may well be looking at a case of lymphoedema.
Swollen legs, thickened and dry skin....lymphoedema....difficult to treat.
Water tablets are a waste of time.....my advice....massaging her legs with moisturiser e.g E45 every night before she goes to bed. Good luck as it will need perseverance, both by massage and of the cream.
Theland...last night you were in sever difficulties with pain...despite many ABers giving advice, there has been no feedback from you.
Spoke to GP today phone consultation.
Been advised to phone 111 over the weekend if necessary, but contact surgery and community nurses on Monday with a view to oxygen assessment.
Thank you all so much for your advice.
I know I always say this, but it could be food allergy. The body isn't happy. Get her to do a detox by removing gluten, dairy, alcohol, wheat, caffeine, processed foods and sugar if possible. Just eat organic meat, loads of veg, some pulses like chick peas, beans... simple food that isn't likely to aggravate her inflammation levels. Cook from scratch. Fast if possible- go for as long as you can with just water to give the body a rest and a chance to fix itself.
