My son rang me sobbing his eyes out the other day with toothache, and he cries at NOTHING. He finally managed to get into an emergency dentist who said he needed 2 wisdom teeth and a regular snapped back tooth out but they couldn’t do it that day, and sent him away with painkillers and antibiotics and said to wait.
He’s woke up today climbing the walls in pain. I’ve managed to get him in again and they’ve taken the snapped tooth out but said they couldn’t take the root out as it needed surgery(which I don’t understand).
He’s rang me again now saying he’s in more pain than ever, he’s bleeding and can not cope anymore. The dentist won’t see him again and I feel absolutely helpless. He’s rang 111 and they won’t do anything either.
Someone please suggest something? I’ve never heard him so distressed before :( : (
Even at the dental hospital i work in he would need to be referred in to have an extraction under GA or conscious sedation, the normal emergency department which runs during term time as its a teaching hospital and the students are off during the summer and wont return until 2nd Sept will only treat uncontrollable bleeding/swelling/or trauma (an injury to the mouth), after this they will tacklea simple extraction and a temporary filling, A+E is his best bet.
He’s been back to the dentist who says the nerve needs to be taken out under day surgery(I’ve no idea why) and he cannot give a date for that. He is on meds/pain killers 30etc bot nothing is touching it. He has been to A & E as 111 told him to but they won’t even look at him. They said they’ve no idea why 111 told him to go there
Tooth pain is something that drives a man crazy and this being a child we understand the distress he is undergoing. According to my personal opinion, I would suggest you dentally as they have the best set of specialized dentist accompanied with the best technological advancement and surgeries are done under the observation of experienced dentist and hygiene factors to avoid post-surgery hassle. Dentally is very quick with their treatment procedure and tries giving fast relief to their patients. It has treated more than 1000 patients with dental problems and I being one of them, am satisfied. I would suggest to take your son to dentally and even call and discuss this with them. They would customize your schedule as per the availability of the dentist available then but you won’t lag for sure. And if you have a second thought over expenses and trust my money is worth their services and even pocket tight.
I think at trip to Delhi from the UK might be a bit of trip to get toothache sorted, rohitrajq, but I'm happy you've found a dentist you're satisfied with.
This is a UK site and I'm sure the OP's son has been treated since this post was made 2 months ago
