" You f****** black c***". I'm just asking, as I wondered which of those three words is offensive. I saw it reported in a newspaper t'other day, as shown, and wondered why they had only censored two of the words.
It wasn't a broadcast, Pixie. It was a newspaper report about abuse being aimed a footballer. My perception of the report as printed was that it was only offensive because of the word "black".
'I wondered which of those three words is offensive'
You've given no context which makes it a little hard to be objective but despite that, you'll only get subjective answers as offence can only be judged by the person the remarks were aimed at.
Oops! my miscount seems to have annoyed someone!
Anyway, all this gubbins is only name-calling. Lots of people these days think they have the right to be offended by anything. Victims/martyrs. Oh dear!
So 2 questions - what is offensive about the whole phrase & which word(s) in particular are offensive.
I think black is not starred out because it is probably an accepted (acceptable) description for persons of a certain ethnicity & skin tone.
No... they appear to believe that being black is not offensive, but the insults were. It also shows that it seems to be racist abuse, which may have been the point?
Seriously if you have to ask what is offensive about those two words 'F' & 'C' then you have a big problem or its a wind up. Black is an accepted innocuous adjective...Jeez.....
